Over the last three years, Chaffee County has made great strides in addressing many important issues.
These accomplishments have been the result of our community working together to become one of the outstanding counties in Colorado. This has included non-partisan actions by retired individuals, business owners, parents, teachers, law enforcement, elected officials in the towns and the hundreds of volunteers working to make Chaffee County a great place to live.
Your County Commissioners have played a key role in many of these accomplishments and it has been an honor and privilege to work with you. Your counsel, ideas, support and energy have been the driving force behind many of these gains and have made the job of CountyCommissioner a rewarding and worthwhile endeavor.
I have announced my intention to run for re-election in 2008 and I would greatly appreciate your support in the coming months, as there are many key issues remaining to be addressed.
In the future, I hope to make additional progress in:
• Affordable housing
• New businesses with livable salaries
• Maintaining our agricultural community and their associated rangelands
• Protecting our water in Chaffee County
• Updating the County’s land use codes and zoning regulations
Listed below are a number of the projects that have been successfully completed through a diverse and proactive working relationship with Buena Vista, Salida, Poncha Springs, the ranching community and a number of the region’s very effective citizen groups and non-profit organizations.
